Refugees & Kinship: "Who Am I Responsible For?"
Luke and I joined Jeremy Jenkins on the All Things All People Podcast to talk about refugees and a biblical ethic of kinship.
Together we explore the question, “Who Am I Responsible For?” Are Christians and societies responsible to help those who have been displaced by war, famine, and economic hardship?
In our new book, Refuge Reimagined: Biblical Kinship in Global Politics, we argue that Christian communities can model for our societies enfolding those who feel weak and are rootless as family. As our world gets smaller year by year, we need to seize upon this ethic of enfolding people seeking a home as kindred.
In our interview we dialogue on how throughout the Biblical story God's people are commanded to put the weakest among them at the center. We give concrete examples of how this can impact the lives of Christians if they take God's word seriously.
